OVER PRESSURE VALVES
Over pressure valves are designed to regulate positive or negative pressure inside silos or hoppers. They operate by opening to release air, preventing damage to the silo and silo top filter during the charging or discharging of materials.
Mech-Tem’s over pressure valves are designed as gravity valves, built with durable materials and generous tolerances to remain functional even in harsh weather conditions atop silos.They can be constructed from mild steel or optional stainless steel (304/316).
Standard flange sizes are according to SANS 1123:600 or SANS 1123:1000, with sizes including 100NB, 150NB, 200NB, 250NB, 300NB, 350NB, 400NB, 500NB, and 600NB. Other sizes can be ordered upon request.
PNEUMATIC KNOCKERS
The Pneumatic Knocker is an economical accessory used on silos where material flow disturbances, such as bridging, siphoning, and residue formations, occur and where vibrator bin dischargers are ineffective. The knocker provides an effect similar to knocking with a hammer on the silo, but without causing dents that could impede material flow.
It works indirectly on the silo wall, utilizing a robust steel plate between the piston and the wall. The effectiveness of the knocker is based on the rule that if a hand hammer can make the product flow, the Pneumatic Knocker will also be effective.
Our pneumatic knockers come with a base plate to attach the knocker and transmit the impact impulse. The knocker’s housing is made of mild steel, while the interior of the cylinder is stainless steel to prevent rust. The impact piston is crafted from brass.

SILO FILLING COUPLING
The Mech-Tem Silo Filling Coupling is designed for transferring materials from tankers to silos, hoppers, or bins. It features a swing arm that can be locked with a padlock, serving as an interlock for the lid. Additionally, the coupling includes a sensor that notifies the user when it is connected to a tanker. By default, it comes equipped with a 100NB SANS 1123/1000 flange and a Storz coupling. Other configurations can be ordered upon request.
The couplings are available in mild steel and 304 or 316 stainless steel.
